Gutter Brightening

Droplets of water on the lip of gutters tend to attract dirt, pollen and various pollutants. When the droplets get large enough they form streams that drip over the edge and deposit the filth on the outside of the gutter. 

Over time these streams cause what's known as tiger stripes to form. These are unsightly dark streaks that get worse with time.
